Hearit Original is uniquely designed for children with learning disabilities and for children with sight and/or dexterity problems as it utilizes an easy to use rotary wheel for volume and on/off control. These versatile instruments can be hand-held (like an interviewing microphone) or worn on a lavaliere (under the chin when reading aloud), or placed securely on a flat surface.

These ergonomic features and durability make the instrument suitable for children with Cerebral Palsy (CP) or autistic tendencies. The device is classified as DME (Durable Medical Equipment).

Hearit Perfect is more petite and powerful than Hearit Original and can also be hand-held or worn around the neck on a lavaliere. Hearit Perfect is engineered to eliminate twice the noise & distractions compared to Hearit Original. If distractions, decreased sustained attention and comprehension or ADD/ADHD are the primary issues, then Hearit Perfect is the recommended instrument of choice. For preschool or primary aged children, supervision by the clinician/instructor is recommended as the instrument is delicate.

Hearit SE is our new, more powerful auditory tool that has twice the noise cutoff of the Hearit Original, dramatically reducing distracting noises for ADD/ADHD and CAPD students. This auditory tool has the same electronic configuration as the Hearit Perfect, but has an improved, highly durable encasement - a real asset when working with difficult students who are likely to throw or drop the instrument.

Clinicians report that auditory processing and attention skills can often be extended with better student speech recognition skills for consonant, medial and word ending sounds. The instrument can be used by the student in any learning setting such as reading text alound for better comprehension or in the classroom to improve attention skills. Special ED/BIL Package: Hearit Original, Hearit Perfect and Hearit SE (each equipped with a pair of custom headphones) can be easily extended with three additional headphones and a four headphone branch connector. Clinicians and instructors find this small group training for up to (4) children to be highly motivational as they often "pick-up" more quickly on each others sound production (Baccus and Beasley). Hearit Combo: Children with a BTE aid can often benefit in the classroom from Hearit's more directional microphone to "pluck-out" speech in noise. The miniature omni-directional BTE aid microphone typically amplifies speech, as well as ambient noise, and is confusing and annoying for the child. This alternative provides the student with a neck-loop (substituted for the headphones) which utilizes the hearing aid telecoil when set to the "T" setting.

The sound traveling through the Hearit into the neck-loop creates a magnetic field that couples with the child's hearing aid. This provides a double auditory gain possibility.

Hearit Broadcaster is designed for use by both the classroom teacher and student. The durable hard-wired sound system with cordless headset microphone can withstand rugged use in the classroom. The custom speakers are banded in the same frequencies as the Hearit tools to improve phonologic awareness and sustained attention. Weighing only 5.5 lbs., the light-weight & portable Broadcaster can be quickly setup and used in any room with an electrical outlet.

Since either the Hearit Original or the Hearit SE can be used as a component of Hearit Broadcaster, the clinician/instructor can use this system in two ways: both as a group phonologic awareness auditory tool, and when disconnected from the Broadcaster, as a clinical training tool. The versatile & cost effective HB&T (Hearit Broadcaster & Trainer) eliminates the need to purchase two separate sound systems and can be used for individual and classroom phonologic training. Engineering: The effectiveness of Hearit Auditory Tools is in the calibration of the raised voice/speech range (2500-6000Hz) frequencies that make speech sounds more intelligible for the phonological delayed or impaired student. AGC (Automatic Gain Control) or Sudden Loud Sound Shield:. This electronic feature acts as a safety shield against any sudden loud sounds. Hearit safeguards the student from any auditory damage with a built-in sound compression system which automatically limits any large increase in auditory gain.

Low Cost & Maintenance: Our auditory tools are reasonably priced and do not require constant adjusting or repair. Battery cost is minimal. Hearit Original's two AA, Hearit SE's two AA and Hearit Perfects three AAA batteries last approximately 200, 200 & 150 hours, respectively. The low energy consumption of our instruments eliminates the need for purchasing a recharger.

Comfort & Stability: The sturdy, comfortable custom headphones included with Hearit auditory tools provide a good seal around the external auditory canal. The padded headset, with disposable headphone pads, eliminates the need for ear molds or insertions which can cause irritation or infection.
